~ Civil Litigation: Employment Law ~

We represent individuals, as plaintiffs, and small and mid-size companies, as defendants, in virtually every type of employment litigation, ranging from racial and national origin discrimination, to sexual harassment, to breach of non-compete agreements, to wrongful discharge, to violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act. We also dedicate a substantial amount of our time to advising individuals on employment contracts and benefits, and to advising small businesses on developing appropriate personnel policies, such as drug testing policies and employee handbooks, as well as termination procedures. In recent years, we have successfully handled the following representative matters:

* Successfully represented a woman in a sexual harassment lawsuit against her Baltimore employer, and successfully represented African-American chef in a racial discrimination lawsuit against a Baltimore food services company.

* Defended several Maryland corporations against charges ranging from sexual harassment and gender discrimination to violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and wrongful termination.

* Successfully enforced a non-compete agreement against a group of employees who left our client’s company to start a competing corporation.

* Negotiated amicable settlements of disputes concerning the scope of non-compete agreements between our clients and the companies that they were their former employers.

* Successfully settled federal litigation on behalf of employee accused by employer of violating confidentiality agreement and improperly competing against a corporation.
